rainy day in paradise

yes, i had every intention of leaving the internet cafe. i am very hungry - lately that is tomada (as always/normal/average) - but, of course, it started raining. and not just raining a little, the kind of rain where you know you will get wet by the time you get home (4 mins walking) but the kind of rain that is pelting down from the heavens above and may just severely hurt you as you make your way home. so instead of walking in the rain, i am blogging. i suppose it worked out well, or else i would have skipped blogging for the day in favour of facecrack-ing.. which i have done already. (facecrack thought.. should update pictures soon...)that was more of a self reminder, as this blog is more of diary of life events. it seems fitting to say "thus far" after life events, but the reality is that i'll likely summarize the thus far part quickly and focus more on the days from now on.
wow..the sound of the rain is sooo loud that i can hardly hear myself thinking. though i don't need to hear myself too much as i only have two thoughts.. mmm..

1. i want a donut (thankfully there are some available just around the corner, but i will get pelted to death with water droplets aka rocks on the way.. so i must practice patience and wait)

and

2. is the knight in shining armour - code name for raincoat - going to come and save me on the white horse - code name for honda dream motorbike??

i have a feeling it won't happened and i'll just have to wait. i guess this is what it will be like without others to depend on if and when i'll be a lone mom in the world with a teeny weeny baby. or maybe i should learn to ask for things that i want.. yes, i'll send a text msg from my non existent phone that i need a ride.. which just leaves me with the telepathic option.. not working so far!!! why can't we read minds yet? is it because of all the noise in the atmosphere?

Useful information (yes, i intend to include some in the blog!)-> i've been doing a lot of reading of any possible material i can get my hands on about baby and pregnancy world. I will try to add one or two interesting finds each time i blog. for today the pick of the crop is:

"Reflections of the Moon on Water: Healing women's bodies and minds through traditional Chinese wisdom"
Author: Xiaolan Zhao, CMD

Her website is:

http://www.chinesehealing.ca/book
and the book can be purchased from:

http://www.randomhouse.ca/catalog/display.pperl?isbn=9780679313878

I would highly recommend this book for anyone - fantastically useful for women of all ages; for men to learn about their wives, mothers, sisters, loves, etc; and most of all the chapter on pregnancy and the time immediately following birth are very valuable.

the rain has stopped, i only have about 10 mins between tropical rains to get a donut and arrive home reasonably dry.
a bientot!

a little surprised

perhaps like many mothers to be, i was a little surprised to find out i am pregnant.
i figured around the beginning of April, when i still had not received my monthly friend that it may be remotely possible... and biensur, the April 29th ultrasound more than confirmed it.. the regular 147 beats per minute confirmed it.. as did the 'full colour' picture (black and shades of orange and yellow) and the 12 mm size.
by the way, hence the title.. "little growing peanut" - it was hardly bigger than a growing peanut.
